High school students of NIS FMN in Aktobe received high scores on the IELTS examination

Students of the 12th grade of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics in Aktobe achieved high results in the international IELTS exam. In total, 112 students took part in the language testing, of which five students scored band 8, nineteen students – 7.5, forty students – 7. Thus, the average grade of the school was 6.7 points.

Among the students who passed the exam with a high score of 8 points were a student of class 12 “A” Edres Eset, students of class 12 “C” Aldeken Nur and Ermekov Beket, student of class 12 “D” Khamieva Meruert and student of 12 “E” Erkingali Mira.

The highest result was shown by the student of class 12 “E” Erkingali Mira, who scored the maximum 9 points in the Listening and Reading sections at the exam. It is worth noting that Mira and her classmates share useful information on preparing for the IELTS exam through the @khan_bilim page as part of our school’s social projects.

«The listening part was easy for me because most of the school lessons were in English. Also, I listened to English-speaking bloggers and podcasts on various topics. As for the Reading module, to be honest, it was the most difficult for me, but thanks to passing tests multiple times and detailed work on the errors, I was able to get a high score. It is very important to work hard to achieve your aims» , said Yermekov Beket, a student of 12″ C “grade.

“IELTS is a very difficult exam that requires maximum concentration and a lot of practice. My teachers and I spent a lot of time practicing for the Writing module because it was vital to comprehend all the nuances of academic writing of the English language. Besides, I visited language training centers in our city. Overall, in six months, I fully understood the structure of the test and applied gained knowledge in the examination,” said Meruert Khamieva, a student of grade 12“D”.
